Jon is a native of Elkhart, Indiana.  He began working in the funeral business in 1996.  There he started with washing cars, cutting grass and cleaning the funeral home and took an interest in serving families.  Soon he began working visitations, services and assisting in day to day operations at the funeral home.  Jon started mortuary school in 1998 and graduated in 2000 from Mid-America College of Funeral Service.  Jon has worked at several funeral homes in Indiana, both small and large, including owning his own funeral home in Elkhart for 10 years. Jon He enjoys spending time with his family and friends when not serving families at the funeral home.

Gordy was a lifetime resident of Noble County and a graduate of West Noble High School in 1969. He served on the Ligonier Fire Department for twelve years and drove bus for the West Noble School Corporation for twenty years. He was an active member of the Ligonier Elks Club, serving all chair positions and achieving the Exalted Ruler in 1999. He was also an accomplished pilot, receiving his private rating in 1981 and his IFR rating in 1996.


Gordy began his funeral home service career in 1974, when he joined Orr Funeral Home in Ligonier. In 1983, he went to work for Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home in Ligonier and remained there until July of 2006. In January, 2007, Gordy became a full-time member of the Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, and also was the owner of the new Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier.


Gordy had an unparalleled ability to connect with and console those in need and was known for his expertise in dealing with the painful details that accompany a death and funeral. Many believe that Gordy was such an incredible success because he simply loved people. Whether you met Gordy at the door of the Funeral Home or at the coffee shop you would always be greeted with a warm smile & his unique wit.


Gordy was laid to rest December 22, 2007, however, his dream lived on.

Ruthann Ream Richards, of Topeka, IN, passed away at home on Saturday June 22, 2013 at the age of 74. She was born in Noble County on December 15, 1938 the daughter of Forest L. and Helen Lucille (Peterson) Ream. She is survived by her beloved children, Michael K. (Laure) Cunningham of Topeka, IN, Kim Cunningham of Lake Forest, CA, and Dawn Irmscher of Fort Wayne, IN; Grandchildren, Ryan & Heather Fausnaugh, Justin, Jarod, and Jenna Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents and her companion of 25 years, Gordon Yeager. Ruthann was a lifelong resident of Topeka and graduated as Valedictorian from Topeka High School in 1956. She retired from the Ligonier Telephone Company as commercial manager with over 41 years of service to the company. Ruthann remained very active in her retirement and made many contributions to the community. She went on to co found Yeager Funeral Home in Ligonier in 2007 and in 2011 she co founded Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center also of Ligonier. Ruthann was very passionate about community service and served civically in many capacities over the years including as the first female president of The Ligonier Rotary Club and was named a Paul Harris Fellow. She was also a Past President of the Ligonier Chamber of Commerce; served in The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter Prentiss, was a Past Matron, Past Deputy, and Past Grand Star Point. Ruthann was currently serving on the Board of the Noble County Community Foundation as Vice President. She was also a past president of the Noble County United Way board of directors. In addition to her many accomplishments Ruthann was well known locally as an accomplished organist and vocalist and had played and sang for hundreds of Weddings & funeral over the years as well as for several churches. She was a member of the Ligonier United Methodist Church for over 40 years. Ruthann will certainly be missed by all who knew, loved and respected her. Especially her staff whom lovingly referred to her as “The Queen”. In honor of Ruthann’s courageously fought battle with cancer that spanned over 30 years and her love of Purdue, attendees to the visitation & service were invited to wear pink or black and gold (Including IU fans).
