Kenneth "Ken" Eugene Donaldson

Kenneth Eugene Donaldson, affectionately known as Ken, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Fort Wayne, IN. Born on October 4, 1943, in Kendallville, IN, Ken was a man characterized by his courage, kindness, and spirited nature. Ken graduated from Ligonier High School in 1961 and proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966, with postings in Taiwan and Vietnam with the Security Service. Following his military service, Ken embarked on a distinguished career until his retirement in 2005 from Stoops Freightliner in New Haven, IN. He also dedicated many years to his skillful work as a butcher, an occupation he greatly enjoyed. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Donaldson; his daughter, Emily (Lance) Donaldson-Whalen; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Mike (Linda) Donaldson and Tom Donaldson. Ken was predeceased by his son, Robert Donaldson, and his parents, Gene and Ilah (Fought) Donaldson. Ken's rich legacy and the richness of his character left an indelible impact on the hearts of those who knew him. His unwavering bravery, generosity, and enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed, but beautifully remembered. Ken's story is one of honor and love, and though he has departed from this world, his memory will resonate for generations to come. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 4 p.m., at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Friends may visit with the family for 2 hours prior, beginning at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ken’s honor may be given to the donor’s choice.
