Barbara K. Miller

TOPEKA – Barbara K. Miller, age 70, of Topeka, IN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 5:27AM at her home in Topeka, IN.

Mrs. Miller was born on February 5, 1947 to Vernon and Leona (Coil) Hipsher in Lima, OH. On May 10, 1963 she married Arnold Miller in Wapakoneta, OH. After a few years they relocated here to Indiana.  You would always be able to catch Barbara with a smile on her face.  She never spoke ill of anyone and really could carry on a conversation about anything or shop until she no longer had any energy.  Outside her most important career as a grandmother and great-grandmother, she spent 25 years as a teaching assistant for the 1 ^st grade at the Ligonier Elementary School.  Barbara also enjoyed creating memories by having family gatherings around a campfire. Family first was her motto, with a good mood to follow.  She will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arnold Miller of Topeka, IN; children, Johnny (Angie) Miller of Millersburg, IN, and Sandra Miller of Middlebury, IN; three grandchildren, Amanda (Tim) Wagner, Travis (Jessica) Miller, and Shane Miller; along with two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Boyd Wagner.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Leona Hipsher.

A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Millers’s honor on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10AM at Yeager Funeral Home with Mel Eash officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Topeka, Indiana following the service.

There will be a time of visitation from 2PM-4PM & 6PM-8PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Linconlway South Ligonier, IN 46767.
