Juanita B. Ritchie

Juanita B. Ritchie, 88, of Ligonier passed away on Monday, March 04, 2013 at 5:15 AM at Parkview Whitley Hospital. She was born on November 1, 1924 in Ashland, KY to Walter and Virginia (Conley) Atkins. Juanita married Arthur Ritchie in 1941; he preceded her in death in 1991.

She moved to the area in 1963 coming from Fisty, KY. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Wolcottville, and had most recently attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Ligonier. Juanita was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family.

She is survived by nine children, Oscar (Suzanne) Ritchie of Summerset, KY, Sarah (Joe) Jacobs of Topeka, Martha (Warren) Halsey of Ligonier, Arthur (Debbie) Ritchie of Ligonier, Debra (Alan) Carpenter of Pierceton, IN, Bobby (Barbara) Ritchie, Alpha Wilcox of Ligonier, IN, Danny Joe (Brenda) Ritchie of Wolcottville, IN, Charles (Susie) Ritchie of Isom, KY; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and one brother, Leo Conley of Danville, KY. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four children, Glen, Dale, Donald Ritchie and Jenny Jacobs; one sister; two brothers; 8 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 6 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, Johnson Street, Ligonier, IN with Pastor Jimmy Shepherd officiating. Burial will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013at the Ritchie Family Cemetery in Knott County, KY. Friends may call on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 4-6PM at Shiloh Baptist Church.
