Arthur W. "Bud" Hawn

Arthur W. “Bud” Hawn, age 81, of Cromwell, IN passed away Monday, January 17, 2011at 7:35 PM at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse.

He was born on March 2, 1929 in Columbia City, IN to George and Ethel (Smith) Hawn. on April 17, 1948 he married Loretta Norris in Columbia City, IN.

Mr. Hawn was lifelong area resident. He owned and operated Hawn Cabinet Shop for over 40 years. He also worked at Cromwell School for 16 years, 6 years at North Webster Elementary School and retired from the Sparta Township Fire Department.

Mr. Hawn belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Cromwell, was a former member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner, where he drove children to the hospital in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Hawn of Cromwell, two daughters, Peggy (Luther Nelson) Hawn of Cromwell, Lorenda (Ernest) Waggoner of Cromwell; one son, Robert "Spank" (Cara) Hawn of Cromwell; six grandchildren, Carrie Trim of Cromwell, Loretta Gates of Cromwell, Cody Hawn of Ligonier, Spencer Hawn of Avilla, Rachel Renea Waggoner of Cromwell, Michael Waggoner of Cromwell; three step-granchildren, Jessica, Matthew and Casey Jones of Cromwell; and two great-grandchildren, Trevor Sexton and Rachel Morgan Trim of Cromwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

A funeral will be held in Mr.Hawn's honor on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767, with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 3-8 PM at Yeager Funeral Home.
