Zonia Marie Reichard Helton

Zonia Marie Reichard Helton, age 81, of Ligonier, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. She was born on January 19, 1943 in Chruch Hill, TN to Fred and Zonia (Bruner) Smith.

Marie is survived by her children, Tammie (Mike) Andersen of University Park, Iowa, Angela (Michael) Bales of Ligonier, Dale (Marcia) Reichard of Ft. Wayne; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, Harold (Trudy) Smith of Church Hill, TN, Gerald Smith of Kingsport, TN; sisters, Inez Dingus of Kingsport, TN, Kay Wallen of Kingsport, TN; many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Donna Harold.

Marie worked for Sorg Products in Ligonier for over 10 years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Church Hill, TN as well as Ligonier Church of the Nazarene. She loved singing southern gospel and attending southern gospel music concerts. Her favorite place to attend concerts was Smoky Mountain National Park. She loved cooking family dinners and especially family cookouts at area lakes. Above all, Marie loved the Lord.

A service will be held in Marie’s honor at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Ligonier Church of the Nazarene, 1102 S. Martin Street, Ligonier, IN 46767. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 4- 7 pm at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Mr. Mike Andersen will officiate the service. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be directed to the faith-base program: Turning Point Educational Center, 518 W. Union Street, Ligonier, Indiana 46767.
