Wilma Gibbons

Wilma Gibbons, age 72, of Ligonier, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1952 in Perry County, Kentucky to Sherman and Viola (Patrick) Roberts. She married Bobby Lee Gibbons on July 13, 1992 in Albion, Indiana.

Wilma enjoyed church services, Bible study, old-fashioned hymns, and serving the Lord. An avid lover of old westerns, she could recite her favorites line for line. She selflessly loved her family with her heart and soul. Wilma leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving family. She was incredibly proud of her children, Michael (Nicole) Deskins, Stephen (Jessica) Deskins; grandchildren, Hailey, Bradley, Evan; great-grandchildren Mila, Leah, Lona, and Wren; brothers, Granville Roberts, Sr., Ricky Roberts and sister, Ida Mae Shepherd of Kimmell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Betty Jo Duff, brother Homer Ray Roberts, and her husband Bobby.

A graveside service will be held in Wilma’s honor at 2 pm on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, Indiana. Pastor Gran Roberts, Jr will officiate. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, Indiana. Yeager Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
