William David “Dave” Tucker, 71, of Ligonier, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born on May 18, 1955 in Peoria, Illinois to the late John and Alta (Wiggins) Doling.

William retired after more than 25 years with Rinker Boats.

In his free time, William enjoyed fishing, bowling and golf. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears. William enjoyed going to the movies and watching NASCAR. He will be fondly remembered for his impressive collections. Most of all, William will be remembered as a deeply loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, always putting his family first. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and having family together for cookouts.

He is survived by his children, Carol (Sean) Middaugh, Christine Ratliff, Crystal (Eric Bench) Diehm, Ragon Tucker, Caleb (Tasha Tincher) Bernard, and Cord Tucker; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Diefenforf; and the many stray kids he took in over the years.

Also preceding him in death was his significant other of over 40 years, Debbie Bernard.

A Celebration of “Dave’s” Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Pettit Park, 100 North Calvin Street, Ligonier.
