William Edward Sprague

April 9, 1944 — October 20, 2024

William “Bill” Edward Sprague, age 80, of Ligonier, Indiana went to be with The Lord on October 20, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1944, the son of Frank Jr. and Martha (LeCount) Sprague in Ligonier. Bill graduated from Ligonier High School in 1963. On September 25, 1964, he married Patricia “Pat” Armstrong in Topeka, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife of 60 incredible years, Pat Sprague of Ligonier, Indiana, their daughter, Kimberly (Gregory) Lambert of Cromwell, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brandi Kolb of South Bend, Indiana, Jennifer (Ramon) Gomez, Angelica “Jelli” (Joshua) Shriver, and Charles Manley all of Cromwell, Indiana; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cecelia (Lynn) Nodine of Albion, Indiana; a brother, Thomas (Beth) Sprague of Wolcottville, Indiana; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Glory Kern and Becky Owen.

Bill retired from Dana Corp in Syracuse after 30 years. In retirement, he volunteered at the radio museum in Ligonier and folded towels at home when Pat would ask him. Bill was an avid Nascar fan and attended many races over the years including the Daytona 500 with his friends, that is until he bought a timeshare and had to take Pat. He was the local Amsoil Man and was full of bits of wisdom. Needless to say, Bill was VERY ornery and regularly enjoyed “coffee breaks” at Charger House or the late Dari Point. He was also a member of Sons of The American Legion and enjoyed playing cards at the West Noble American Legion, Post 243. Bill attended Stone’s Hill Community Church with the Church Candy Lady, AKA Pat. He loved traveling and took many trips to Florida with Pat on “Valentime’s” week.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 3pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Stones Hill Community Church, 151 W Stones Hill Road, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Joey Nelson will officiate.

Family and friends will be received from 1-3pm prior to the service at the church on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Riley Children’s Hospital, or Stones Hill Community Church.
