William Ray Baker

William Ray Baker, age 82, of Berrien County, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Lakeland Hospital in Saint Joseph, Michigan at 3:02 am. He was born on June 3, 1940 the son of Frank  and Dorothy (Saurber) Baker in St. Joseph Michigan. On September 9, 1978 he married Connie Bowman in Berrien Springs, Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of over 44 years, Connie Baker of Berrien Springs, Michigan; children, Hannah Baker of Berrien Springs, Michigan, Tina (Bob) Santarlas of Stevensville, Michigan, and Leslie Poley of Doniphan, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; along with three, siblings, Rosie (Butch) Harris of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Jimmy (Marcia) Baker of Sawyer, Michigan, and Tommy (Judy) Baker of Watervliet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Eddie Baker and Jonny Baker.

An entrepreneur and a talented mechanic, Bill was a jack of all trades & master of none. He was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Church in Bridgman, Michigan and a firm believer in the 2nd amendment. He enjoyed firearms, gun shows, auctions, flea markets, and a good meal!

A funeral service will be held in Bill’s honor on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at 4 pm at St. Peter's Evangelical Church, 105 West Second Street, Galien, Michigan 49113. Pastor Robert Hamilton will officiate.

Family and friends will be received from 3-4 pm prior to the service at the church.
