Walter C. Boyles Jr.

Walter C. Boyles, Jr., 76 of Ligonier, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.  He was born on May 28, 1947 to Walter C. Boyles, Sr. and Gladys (Murphy) Boyles in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He married Susan (Roy) Moser on November 8, 2008.

Walter graduated from Fort Wayne Northside in 1965. He worked at Nisco and Colbin Tool and later part time maintaining the Ligonier Car Wash. Walter loved sports.  His favorite basketball teams were Indiana Hoosiers and Indiana Pacers. Walters favorite college football teams were Michigan State and Notre Dame. His favorite NFL team was the Indianapolis Colts. Walter also enjoyed fishing and golfing. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren. Every time his great-grandchildren were around, he instantly had a sparkle in his eye, it always made his day.

Walter is survived by his wife Susan Boyles of Ligonier; children, Aimee (Mark) Noragon of Columbia City; step-sons, G. Matthew (Robin) Moser of Ligonier, Eric Moser of Ligonier; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandy Boyles Sills of MI, Sharon (Jim) Vanhorn of Fort Wayne, Sue (John) Helbelig of Huntington, Sally Chaffin of Ft. Wayne, Alice Rice of Albion and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur J. Boyles, Rolland W. Boyles; sister, Mary J. White; son, Terry Boyles and one nephew.

A funeral service will be held in Walter’s honor at 1pm on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Ligonier Presbyterian Church, 407 S. Calvin Street, Ligonier, IN 46767.  A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 am to 1 pm prior to the funeral. Pastor Diana Siegel will officiate. Burial will take place at Eden Cemetery in Topeka, Indiana
