Obituary

Travis E. Teague, 49, of Wawaka, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Travis was born on October 15th, 1976 in Columbia City, Indiana to Roy Teague and Bonnie (Short) DeBolt. Travis grew up in Cromwell, Indiana with his parents and his sister, Tracey.

Travis enjoyed playing guitar, making handmade gifts for his loved ones, watching Notre Dame and Tennessee football, and was also a Buffalo Bills fan.

He loved the mountains and the ocean. He loved garage sales, thrift stores, and was up for any kind of adventure or road trip.

Travis will be missed for his kind heart. He was always willing to help someone because he understood what they were going through. He had a great love for animals, especially dogs.

He loved listening to his favorite rock and roll bands, The Doors and Pink Floyd, and he enjoyed sitting by a fire and enjoying a cold beer.

Travis graduated from West Noble High School and Vincennes University. He worked in shipping and receiving most of his life and enjoyed being a forklift operator.

Travis had several lifelong friends that he considered brothers: Russell Young, Aaron Bauer, and Ben Wallbank.

Travis is survived by his mother Bonnie and stepfather Rick DeBolt of Wawaka; his sister Tracey (Todd Buckland) Teague of Lagrange; stepsisters Elizabeth (Aaron) Lindsey of Syracuse and Susan (Ben) Darland of Mesa, Arizona; and stepbrother Stan (Melissa) Wiley of Ligonier. His three nephews, Andrew (Tayla) Fought of Kendallville, Darrin (Kaylee) Fought of Lagrange, Ted Bair of Lagrange, and two step-nephews, Dewey and Declan Lindsey of Syracuse, also survive.

He is also survived by his Aunt Martha Eichman of New Haven; his Aunt Delores and Uncle Charles Markham of Jellico, Tennessee; his Aunt Sheila Teague; his Uncle Kevin (Susie) Teague; his Uncle Doug (Sabrina) Teague; and his step-grandmother Vicky Teague, all of Churubusco; along with many cousins in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee, all of whom he loved dearly.

Travis was preceded in death by his father, Roy; his beloved grandparents William and Evelyn Short; grandmother Mary King; grandfather Ben Teague; great-grandmother Zella Murphy; and his favorite dog, Sally.
