Thomas Bruce Taylor Jr.

Thomas Bruce Taylor Jr. of Ligonier, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Avalon Village in Ligonier. He was born to Thomas Bruce & Charlotte Ruth (Knox) Taylor Sr. on January 23, 1941 in Ligonier, IN. On September 9, 1961 he married Diana Metzger at the Syracuse Evangelical Church.

Thomas and his wife owned Sunshine Market in Topeka for 28 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, carving, mushroom hunting, carpentry, and eventually liked traveling with Diana.

He is survived by his wife Diana of Ligonier; his children, Bryan “Ed” (Jill)  Taylor of Ligonier, Joanna S. (Stephen) Hathaway of Ligonier; grandchildren, Seth Gerhart of Washington D.C., Taylor (Ashley) Gerhart of Cromwell, Hunter (Sierra) Taylor of Rome City, Mason Taylor and Alexa Taylor of Ligonier; five great-grandchildren, Liam, Arya, Anna, Xavier, and Linkin. He is survived by two brothers, Kent (Jackie) Taylor of Ligonier and Tim (Kim) Taylor of Shipshewana.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Allen L. Taylor; two sisters, Kay Shearer and Nancy Donut.

A memorial service will be held in Thomas’ honor on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Michael White will officiate. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance in Ligonier.

Family and friends will be received from 2-6 pm prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
