Thomas Magers

Thomas T. “Tommy” Magers, age 91, passed away on Saturday June 4, 2021 at home. He was born on June 6, 1929 the son of Edward J. and Esther F. (Lehmann) Magers in Wawaka, IN. He attended Wawaka High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Tom is survived by his nephew, Edd (Brenda) Gaerte of Wawaka; and niece, Cheryl Gaerte of Ligonier; along several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tom worked at Irene Byron Health in Fort Wayne for many years prior to retirement. He was very involved in the American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier and considered his fellow legion members his second family. Tom was honest, kind, smart, and had a great sense of humor. He was truly a good man and will be missed by many.

A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance in Ligonier. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
