Suzanne Carolyn Lambright, age 88, of Avilla, Indiana passed away on November 25, 2025. Suzanne was born on February 21, 1937, to the late Andrew and Louise (Vanderbosh) Pfefferkorn in Ashley, Indiana.
Suzanne grew up in Ashley, Indiana. She was a 1955 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, Garrett, Indiana. Upon graduation, she attended Wayne Beauty School, Fort Wayne, Indiana where she received her Cosmetology Beautician License in 1959. At completion of cosmetology school, Suzanne established the “Hen House Beauty Salon” which started a rewarding 55+ year relationship with countless loyal customers and friends throughout the northeastern Indiana area, many of which she would follow on and visit at nursing homes when they were not able to come to the shop. She was a pioneer in the field and was one of the first cosmetologists in the area to introduce “electrolysis” treatments. Additionally, Suzanne was also co-owner and operator of the Hotel Gill / Blue Room Lounge, Ligonier, Indiana, and the Spaghetti Bowl, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Suzanne had many talents that led to numerous hobbies including hand drawings, oil painting, and water coloring. In her last years following a stroke that left her right side paralyzed, she became an inspiration and amazed countless residents and staff members at Presence Sacred Heart displaying her commitment and determination to be self-sufficient by enthusiastically engaging in therapy and exercise every day. Suzanne was a devout catholic, and a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Ligonier, Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Edward Halferty, Elmer Lambright, and Walter Rex; son Patrick Halferty; siblings Stella Royal, Carl Pfefferkorn, "Chub" Pfefferkorn, Andrew Pfefferkorn, Alred Pfefferkorn, Mildred Miller, Ralph Pfefferkorn and Leo Pfefferkorn
Suzanne is survived by her sons Michael Halferty of Auburn, Scott Lambright (Ginny) of Virginia Beach, Va., daughter Tamara Halferty (Brian Braden) of Kimmell; step sons Michael Rex (Solange) of Boston, Mass., Douglas (Leslie) Rex of Fishers, step daughters Cynthia Rex of Bloomington, Jennifer (Bob) Anderson of Fort Wayne; many more grand-children, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from at 1:00 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home with Thomas Nobie officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, W Main St., Albion, Indiana 46701.
