Susan Kathryn Storms

Susan Kathryn Storms, age 75, of Ligonier, IN, formerly of Hamden, Ohio passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on July 22, 1948, the daughter of Gerald Vernon and Bertha (Mitchell) Peoples in McArthur, Ohio. On September 5, 1964, she married Cleveland “Gene” Storms in McArthur, Ohio.

Susan enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends, and always went above and beyond to help others. She was a devoted Christian and enjoyed reading scripture, singing gospel, and spending time with her church family. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, rock collecting, and traveling. When with friends and family she always tried to squeeze in a game of cards, laughing, and having fun.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Cleveland “Gene” Storms of Ligonier, Indiana; three children: Janet (Tom) Lindsay of Ligonier, Indiana, Cassie (Doyle) Sandmann of New Ulm, Minnesota, and Richard (Lisa) Storms of Syracuse, Indiana; 12 grandchildren including: Melissa (Lorenzo) Hernandez of Indiana, Brandan Lindsay of Indiana, Joani (Donovan) Avila of Indiana, Cortney (Paul) Karels of Minnesota, Andrew (Arianna) Smith of Iowa, Justin Sandmann of Florida, Ross (Kendra) Sandmann of Minnesota, Megan (Randy) Bird of Minnesota,  Tonya (Terry Howard) Lent of Indiana, Amanda Lent of Indiana, Mindy (Codie Davis) Daffron of Indiana, Jason (Francine Sharkey) Storms of Indiana; 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; six siblings, Dennis(Judy) Peoples of Wolcottville, Indiana, David (Linda) Peoples, Dorothy Rose, Donna “Jeanie” Denny, and Shirley Ousley, all of McArthur, Ohio, and Karen “Kay” Cox of McDermott, Ohio, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Gerald Vernon, her mother, Bertha Peoples, two sisters, Ruth Sickles and Judith Webb, a brother, Delbert Peoples, a great grandchild, Xitalia Hernandez.

In keeping with her wishes, the family will host a celebration of her life at Ligonier Christian Church, 9025 N 860 W Ligonier, IN, 46767 on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 1-3, with a service at 2:30. Pastor David Peoples will officiate.

There will also be a service at Vinton Chapel in McArthur, Ohio at a later date.
