Steven Weaver

The “Voice of West Noble”, Steven Raymond Weaver, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday April 12, 2022. He was 63 years of age. Steven was born on October 8, 1958 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to John P. Sr. & Dolores (Braun) Weaver. He graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1977 and attended St. Francis College on a tennis scholarship. On August 8, 1992, he married the love of his life, Teresa Marshall.

Steven is survived by his beloved wife nearly 30 years Teresa Weaver; four children, Lisa (Fiancé, Kevin Rottger) Weaver of Ligonier, Craig (Mags) Weaver of Ligonier, Michael (Sidney) Weaver of Syracuse, and Kristen (Jeremy) Miller of Luther, MI; a bonus daughter, Nicole Smith of Ligonier; grandchildren, Brody, Jenna, Iden, Autumn, Grace, Olivia, and McKenzie; and a sister, Mary Lou Holbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Judith Weaver; and a brother, John P. Weaver Jr.

Steve moved to the West Noble area in 1991 to help found WLNB. He gave that venture his all and that radio station eventually became Froggy102.7. Although he was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Steve bled West Noble. He taught Broadcasting at West Noble High School and established the school's radio program broadcasting on WNRL 105.9. Steve announced multiple sporting events at the school over the years and loved every minute of it. In addition to broadcasting, Steve enjoyed golf, bowling, and was quite the pool shark. His heart was always in the community and he was a member of Stones Hill Community Church. In spite of all his health struggles, he never stopped caring and fighting for his family. He is the only known person to complete a chapter of the men’s ministry, Fight Club from a Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife and children were the light of his life. All he did, he did for them. Steve truly was a devoted husband, a loving father, son and brother, and a Fight Club Man.

A funeral service will be held in Steve’s honor at 2 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Stones Hill Community Church, 151 W Stones Hill Rd, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Joey Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 12-2 and 4-6 pm at Stones Hill Community Church and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
