Steven E. “Steve” Edsall, age 67, of Kimmell, IN, passed away on October 23, 2025, at his home. He was born on April 1, 1958, in Columbia City, Indiana, to the late Rodger Allen and Jerron Marie (Shank) Edsall.
Steve had been resident and member of the Kimmel community for the past 41 years. He graduated from West Noble High, class of 1976. On September 17, 1977, Wolf Lake, IN, he married Kay (McLallin) Edsall, she passed away on December 15, 2012.
Steve loved his animals on the farm, which he affectionately referred to as Poverty Knob. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, hunting, and helping his son during planting and harvest seasons. His mom was an excellent cook, and he took after her making the best apple pie. He loved living back the lane and sitting on his front porch with his dogs. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh and incredible generosity.
He retired from Silgan Plastics in 2013. In retirement he owned and operated the Cromwell Feed Mill. He was a member of; the Salem Community Church of Wilmot, where he was an active member of the choir and bible study group; and the Cromwell Masonic Lodge No. 705.
Steve is survived by; one son, Mike (Brandie) Edsall of Kimmell, IN; one daughter, Angie (Brad) Franklin of Kimmell, IN; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Oliver; one brother, Brian Edsall of Kimmell, IN; one sister, Donia (Mike) Gillespie of Flagstaff, AZ; and his longtime companion, Margaret Christlieb of Claypool, IN.
He was preceded in death by his; wife, Kay (McLallin) Edsall; parents, Rodger Edsall and Jerron (Shank) Edsall; and one brother, Don Edsall.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Yeager Funeral Home at 10:30 AM with Pastor Eric Hickman officiating. Burial will follow at Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery in Merriam, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Salem Community Church of Wilmot, 11188 W. 325 S., Larwill, IN 46764.
