Stella Mae Jacobs

Stella Mae Jacobs, age 77, of Cromwell, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at7:35PM. She was born on November 14, 1939 to Granville & Ogie (Handshoe) Bolen in Rock Fork, KY. She married Shelby Jacobs Sr. on April 23, 1971 in Ligonier, IN.

Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ligonier. She loved to garden and enjoy God’s creation. She also liked to fish and very much enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Stella is survived by her husband, Shelby of Cromwell; her children, John Charles of Cromwell, Loretta (Johnny) Huff of Ligonier, Shelby Jacobs Jr. of Cromwell; grandchildren, David, Cari, Brenda, Stella, Brittany, TJ, Katelyn, Summer, and Gracie; siblings, Bonnie Hyde, Connie Messer, Ronnie Bolen, and Gary Bolen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Brenda Ruggles; a son, Terry Smith; a grandchild, Sylvia Cole; siblings, Emily Johnson, Barbara Hawbaken, Madge Bolen, Kenneth Bolen, and Don Bolen.

There will be a funeral service in Mrs. Jacobs’ honor on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at 11AM at Shiloh Baptist Church – 709 Johnson Street Ligonier, IN with Pastor Jimmy Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Brushy Chapel Cemetery in LaGrange, IN off of Route 3.

There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the church from 4PM – 8PM.
