Sherry Lynn Carr, age 54, of Kendallville, passed away unexpectedly following a battle with cancer, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 5:24 pm at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. She was born on February 25, 1970, the daughter of James Evan and Helen Jacobs.
She is survived by four children, La’Keasha (Jonie Kinnison) Carr of Kendallville, Indiana, Kayla Carr of Edinburg, Texas, La’Torie Lynn Carr of South Milford, Indiana, and Derrick Carr of North Webster, Indiana; five grandchildren, Whitney, Kevin, Victoria, Valeria, and Zinnia; Siblings, Sheila Martin, Katy Jacobs, and James “Scottie” (Stephani) Jacobs; a very special niece and nephew, Scarlett and Wyett Jacobs; nieces and nephews, Teddy Brent (Leah) Martin, Brittany (Isaiah Flores) Martin, Olivia (Alan) Wise, Bradley Martin, Alexis Martin, Wesley Martin, and Felicia (Moses) Wright, James Percey, and Jada Percey; Great-nieces and nephews, Madeline, Ivan, Javez, and Arianna; along with many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Jada Lynn Carr.
Sherry graduated from West Noble High School and renovated homes for many years. Most recently, she worked as a courier for Lake City Bank. She absolutely loved arts and crafts and was extremely talented. Sherry had an amazing sense of humor and was an incredible story teller. She loved passing on memories and family stories. Sherry was always making something special for the kids and always making others feel special. She was loving, kind, and never met a stranger, or an animal that she didn’t like. Nothing was more important to Sherry than her family, and she loved nothing more than being with them.
A funeral service will be held in Sherry’s honor at 7pm on Saturday, June 22 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Family and friends will be received from 5-7 pm prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
In keeping with her wishes, a cremation committal will take place following the service and Sherry will be laid to rest with her parents at Oak Park Cemetery at a later date.
