Sarah M Traxler

Sarah M. Traxler, age 82, of Columbia City, passed away, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at her home after an extended illness. She was born in Charleston, WV to Dallas Elrod and Rebecca Crabtree on May 28, 1942. Sarah married Dennis Traxler on September 6, 1975.

Sarah is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis Traxler; children, Damon (April) Ressler, Tim (Fonda)Traxler, Josh Traxler, all of Columbia City; grandchildren, James and Abi Ressler, Judd and Becca Traxler, Sarah Ramsey, Kenny Hansen and Paul Stytle; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Walkerly of Wooster, OH and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy Jackson and grandson, Adam Shelton.

Sarah grew up in Wooster, OH and attended Wooster High School. She earned her G.E.D. in Warsaw, IN. Sarah worked in social services and eventually becoming the Executive Director of Whitley County Council on Aging in the early 90’s.  Sarah enjoyed traveling the U.S., Europe and Australia.

As per Sarah’s request, there will be no funeral or visitation planned. A Celebration of Sarah’s Life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier. Yeager Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
