Ruby I. Campbell

Ruby (Stump) Campbell, age 88, of Ligonier, IN passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 4:40 AM at Avalon Village in Ligonier, IN. She was born on September 9, 1928 to Asa N. and Pearl (Galloway) Stump.  On August 28, 1948 Ruby married Frederick Campbell in Wilmot, IN.  He has since passed away on April 29, 2015.

Ruby helped to establish Campbell’s Garage in 1958 with her husband, Fred.  Mrs. Campbell enjoyed working alongside her family for many years.  She also liked reading romance novels, sewing and crochet projects, cooking, and dogs.  She will be missed by so many.

Surviving are her four children, Linda (Anthony) Campbell-Jimenez of Angola, Peggy Campbell of Kendallville, Daniel Campbell, Fred M. (Connie) Campbell; along with many many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren; and Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister; Evelyn Gaerte, and two brothers; Joseph Stump, Lowell Stump, and daughter-in-law; Mary Campbell.

A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Campbell’s honor on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10 AM at Yeager Funeral Home with Pastor John Lutton officiating . Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Wilmot, IN.

There will be a time of visitation on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 3-7 PM as well as from 9 AM – 10 AM prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday, August 26, 2017.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Make-A-Wish Foundation for Children.
