Roy R Thornsberry

Roy R. Thornsberry, age 71, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 in Ligonier, Indiana.  He was born to Aldo and Lora (Huff) Thornsberry on June 11, 1949 in Mousie, Kentucky.  He married Marcella Taulbee on September 19, 2008 in Kokomo, Indiana.

Roy is survived by his wife, Marcella Thornsberry of Ligonier; children, Michael Karr of Ligonier, Roy Thornsbearry of Ligonier, Sara Handshoe of Cromwell, Eric Bench of Ligonier, Katrina Bench of Ligonier, Deanna (Jarod) Schuman of Columbia City; 26 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Patsy) Thornsbearry of Garrett, Danny (Dawn) Thornsbearry of Garrett; uncles, Carson Huff of Kendallville and Johnny Huff of Albion.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Joseph Malagon.

A gathering of family and friends will be held in Roy’s honor from 2-4 pm Friday, January 29th at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Following the visitation, family and friends will process out to Oak Park Cemetery for the graveside service and military graveside honors. Pastor Jean Ness will officiate.

Roy honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietman War.  He was a member of the American Legion in Ligonier and the Car Club.  Roy enjoyed comic books, classic cars and loved his family and grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS.
