Rondell “Nathan” Short Jr., age 45, of Ligonier, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning. August 11, 2023 at home. He was born on January 5, 1978, the son of Rondell and Kimberly (Strouse) Short in McDowell, Kentucky.
He is survived by his mother, Kim Short of Ligonier; four children, Krauss Short of Wolcottville, Starr Short of Kendallville, Isis Short of Ligonier, and Hazel Miller of Goshen; a sister, Shawna Short of Ligonier; a brother, Matthew Short of Pueblo, Colorado; four grandchildren, Lyric Short, Evelyn Short, Max Sibert, and Irene Short of Ligonier along with several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by, his father, Rondell Short Sr; and his grandparents.
Nathan enjoyed working and was currently the property manager at L & S in Ligonier. He loved spending time with his kids, whether he was taking his girls Starbucks and to get their nails done, or fishing with his son. He was also and was an excellent cook and enjoyed working on cars. He was always willing to help, and would help anyone that needed it, regardless of who they were. Nathan was always there when you needed him and enjoyed going to church.
A funeral service will be held in Nathan’s honor at 2pm on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Yeager Funeral Home. Pastor Gran Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, Indiana.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Yeager Funeral Home.
