Obituary

Ronald Jason “Jake” Harlan, 55, of Goshen, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 20, 2026.

He was born on May 5, 1971, in Goshen, to Ronnie Harlan and Norma (Everhart) Harlan.

On October 16, 2010 , he married the love of his life, Tina (Pauley) Harlan, who survives.

Jake was employed as the Quality Assurance Manager at Brinkley RV, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.

Family was the center of Jake’s life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother, and friend who cherished every opportunity to spend time with those he loved most. His greatest joy came from watching his children and grandchildren grow and creating lasting memories with them. Jake loved coaching his children in sports, fixing just about anything his kids managed to break, and cheering on his beloved New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed baseball, dates with Tina, and was always ready with one of his unforgettable dad jokes. His family will forever smile when remembering his good-natured refusal to let anyone touch the thermostat. Jake’s generous heart, willingness to help others, and infectious sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Surviving are his loving wife, Tina Harlan of Goshen; children, Blaine (Logan) Harlan of Connecticut, Victoria (Matt) Tiffany of South Bend, Beatrice (Allison) Harlan of South Bend, Matthew Lange of Goshen, Amber (Jordan) Lange of Columbia City, Jenna (Chris) Harlan of Goshen, and Gavin Harlan of Goshen; grandchildren, McKynlee Fox, Jonah Fox, Watson Tiffany, Paesyn Bechtold, Paxtyn Bechtold, Prestyn Bechtold, and an expected grandchild, Baby Bechtold; his mother, Norma Harlan of Cromwell and her companion, Jim Lewis; sister, Rhonda Harlan of Wolcottville; brother, Gene (Rhonda) Harlan of Wabash; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Harlan, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to establish a fund for Gavin Harlan’s future.

Jake’s legacy of unconditional love, laughter, generosity, and devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, the countless memories he created and the lives he touched will forever remain a source of comfort and strength.
