Richard "Rick" Richards

Richard “Rick” Richards, age 72, of Albion, Indiana passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at home. He was born on November 6, 1952 the son of Glen Elijah and Helen Demaris (Myers) Richards at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake, Indiana. On January 12, 2000 he married Elisha Keene in Cromwell, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Elisha Richards of Albion, Indiana; five children, David (Tabatha) DePew of Kendallville, Indiana, Angela (Gregory) Hall of Butler, Indiana, Erin Richards of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and R.J. Richards Jr. of Albion, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roger Richards of Columbia City, Indiana, Rex (Laura) Richards of Elkhart, Indiana, and Ron Richards of Kendallville, Indiana; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Amy Martinez; a great- grandson, Ivan Esparza; and siblings, Bob Richards and Mary Lou Workman.

Rick grew up at Loon Lake near Columbia City and worked at Silgan Plastics for 30 years. He was a huge Nascar fan and enjoyed country music and classic rock. Most importantly, Rick loved his family. He was the world’s best husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Rick will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held in Rick’s honor on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 2pm. Pastor Anthony Bauer will officiate. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, Indiana.

Family and friends will be received from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral on Wednesday.
