Raymond Collet, age 95, of Ligonier, Indiana, passed away peacefully on 29 November 2025 surrounded by family at Parkview Hospital, Kendallville, Indiana. He was born in 1930 to Louis and Edith Collet of Hamilton, Indiana.
He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean War. After his service, he served as a police officer in Butler, Indiana and then as a supervisor at Monsanto for many years. Additionally, a devoted public servant, he served his community on Ligonier’s City Council and Water Board and was the Parks and Recreation Director and City Building Inspector. He was a dedicated member of the Ligonier Christian Church and loved to fish, hunt, and go camping with his family.
He is survived by; his loving wife of 73 years, Joyce; their three sons, Stanley Collet of Ligonier, Stuart Collet, and Bruce (Teresa) Collet from Germany, and Sandra Collet his daughter-in-law from Arkansas; four grandchildren, Erica (Cedric) Schupp from Germany, Thomas (Rebecca) Collet of Greenwood, Indiana, Sean Collet serving his country at Malmstrom AFB, Montana, and Samantha (Angela) Collet serving her country at Andersen AFB, Guam, and brother-in-law Don (Frieda) Blair of Michigan; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Collet, Hannah Collet, and Elisabeth Schupp; and, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, Louis and Edith; brother, Guy and his sister, Bernice; his son, Steven; great-grandchild, Leah Marie Collet; and brother-in-law, Alan Blair.
He will be remembered for his devotion to GOD and his family, his quiet strength, and his enduring patriotism.
A graveside service with military rites will be held at a later date.
