Patricia "Patty" Joan Miller

Patricia “Patty” Joan (Schmucker) Miller age 56 of Ligonier, Indiana passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 following prolonged complications of pneumonia. Born on August 22, 1961, Patty is the daughter of Daniel T. Schmucker and Irene (Frey) Thomas. Patty married Dennis Miller on September 7, 1997, in Martin, S.D.

Patty was the granddaughter of the late Jancy and Martha Ella (Troyer) Schmucker and Joseph and Katie (Yoder) Frey. Also, preceded in death by her father, sister-in-law Cynthia (Wyke) Schmucker, Uncle Jancy Schmucker, Jr; Uncle and Aunt David and Martha Schmucker; cousins Gary Miller, Myron Schwartz, Mervin Schmucker, James Bender and son Lyndon; and former husband David Evans.

Surviving immediate family include her husband, Dennis Miller of Cromwell, IN; mother, Irene Thomas; step-father, James D. “JD” Thomas of LaGrange, IN; sons, Adrian and Thomas Evans, of Goshen, IN; brothers Del (Brenda) Schmucker, of Dryden, Ontario, Homer Schmucker, of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Sharlene (Frank) Herington, of Elkhart, IN; three nieces, six nephews, one great nephew and one great niece.

Patty enjoyed serving others, crocheting, crafts and socializing. She was baptized in Christ at age 14. Her laugh was contagious.  She will be missed by so many who loved and adored her.

Visitation will take place from 10 am to 12 pm with funeral services starting at noon on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Church of Christ – 9025 N. 860 W. Ligonier, IN., with Pastor George Cleverly officiating.

A cremation committal will take place with Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier, IN.

Patty will be laid to rest at Scott Cemetery, Scott, IN on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Sharlene Herington to aid in funeral costs.
