A letter from the family
With a sad heart, please know that Oscar Lee Collins passed away on March 22, 2020.
He was born November 19, 1973. Living to be 46 years of age.
Everyone remembers him as “Ozzie”. A name given to him at a very young age. He was the type of guy to always be out there with a smile, making friends with everyone. Hanging out with all his buddies was a normal way of life for him. His heart was always ready to help if he could.
Ozzie loved fishing, having camp fires, being outdoors, hanging with friends, and eating out with family. Loved going out to the buffet restaurants! He liked buying and selling misc. items to and from his friends, always after that great deal!
He was a hard worker too. Fast and capable. He could handle tough labor. Over the years, he had worked at several boat manufacturing facilities and would tell stories about how fast he was with a rivet gun! He was a great roofer too. He could be 2-3 stories up and working hard on tearing an old roof off and putting the new shingles down with great speed.
Ozzie had been in a tough fight with being a diabetic over the past 15 years. The struggles had him in and out of the hospital several times a year. Always a fighter though. It brought him to the point of not being able to work, and struggled to even handle daily activities. He found a way through all that, and lived life. Traveled to many places along the way too!
Some of his immediate family include: Daughter: Amber, Son: Christian, Father: Lee, Brothers: Rusty & Andy, Sisters: April & Cheyenne, and Mom: Connie, who passed away in 2011. Thanks mom, for having Ozzie!
Finding this hard to say and follow, but there will only be a private, limited goodbye, due to the current issues with the outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19). Ozzie will be cremated and laid to rest at the Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier Indiana.
Sincerely,
The family of Oscar "Ozzie" Collins
