Nicolas Contreras Briones past away in his residence on the 14th of April 2026, in Ligonier, Indiana at 83 years old. Born on the September 10 1942 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. Son of Epiphanio Contreras Baes and Maria Briones Montez. He married his life long partner Maria Dolores Rodriguez Munos on the 4th of July, 1962 in Aguascalientes, Mexico in the Catholic Church of Encino.

He is survived by his wife Maria and his 7 daughters (Alicia, Maria Elena, Maria de Rosario, Elvira, Silvia, Adela, and Maria de Guadalupe) his 3 sons ( Eraclio, Gerardo, and Nicolas) his 32 grandchildren and his 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters, Maria Concepsion Contreras Briones and Josefina Contreras Briones

Nicolas was baptized in Catholic Church of Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. A devout believer and frequent church goer, some of his favorite pastimes were tending to his garden, listening to ranchero music, and dancing with his wife

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Ligonier with Calling one hour prior at Church. Calling will also be Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home.
