Ned Lynn Shisler

Ned Lynn Shisler , age 61, of Albion, IN., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on September 11, 1957, the son of Frederick D. and Alice A. (Haney) Shisler in Kendallville, IN.

He is survived by his companion of 8 years, Jan Smith; son, Jacob (Ashley) Shisler; grandson, Marshall Shisler; Jan’s Family, Emily (Ricky) Stump, Alexis Gilbert, Parker Gilbert, Easton Stump, Bryce Kreager and his girlfriend, Tiffany Hall, Braden Kreager, Bentley Kreager, Zaylee Kreager, Oakleigh Kreager; two brothers and six sisters; Roger (Wendy) Shisler, Renee Dodson, Rita Steele, Rex (Kathy) Shisler, Nancy Neff, Norma (Gary) Watson, Nelda (Gilbert) Owen, Carol (Tim) Lock; ten nephews, Alex, Travis, Toby, Gavin, Jared, Brandon, Calaway, Chad, Ryan, Kyle; seven nieces, Pam, Kenna, Kylee, Tracy, Melinda, Darcy, Heather; along with many great nieces and nephews. Ned was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Alice Shisler; four brother-in-laws, Steve Glant, David Dodson, Harry Neff III, Tom Steele; and Jan’s two sons, Colby Kreager and Josh Lampen.

Ned was a graduate of Central Noble High School in 1976.  He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. from 1976 - 1980. He had quite the work ethic. He worked for many years in maintenance for Silgan Plastics. He enjoyed the memories he created with his family and friends, especially with his grandson, Marshall. He liked to go fishing and hunting with his dog, Hoss. His love for riding motorcycles, contributing to the surrounding casinos, purchasing the winning ticket or drawings at any service club, and having something clever to say is what people will remember him by.

A f uneral service will be held in Ned’s honor on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11AM at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor Tim Grable will officiate. Burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN following the service.

Family and friends will be received from 1PM - 9PM on Sunday, November 11, 2018 as well as from 10AM - 11AM prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
