Nancy C. Petersen

Nancy C. Petersen, age 85, of Ligonier, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Elkhart General hospital.  She was born on March 8, 1938 to Newberry and Faye (Zehner) Cooper in Elkhart, Indiana.  She married Roger R. Petersen on November 17, 1957 in Wakarusa, Indiana.  He passed away on December 7, 2009.

Nancy is survived by her children, Randy (Cheryl) Petersen of Ligonier, Rodney (Julia) Petersen of Wawaka, Teresa (Mike) Rose of Logansport, Robin (Wayne) Musselman of Ligonier; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dick (Sally) Cooper of Middlebury and sister, Virginia Jensen of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.

Nancy was a member of Burr Oak Church in Ligonier.  She loved crossword puzzles, gardening, spending time with family and friends.  Nancy earned several Hog Judging awards with Berkshire Association.  Most importantly she loved Jesus. A service will be held in Nancy’s honor at 10 am on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767.  A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4-7 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Cosperville Cemetery.
