Myron Adelbert Smith, age 56, passed away peacefully at his home in Goshen, Indiana. He was born on May 23, 1966 to Thomas and Esther (Newell) Smith in Goshen. He spent the last 3 and a half years with the love of his life, fiancé Janelle Houser. Family was Myron’s whole heart. He joined the Marine Corps in 1986. He served as a 1st battalion Motor T reconnaissance marine during Desert Storm. He was injured in the line of duty while in Saudi Arabia. After returning home in 1994, Myron received his welding certificate and began a proud 28 year career of welding. He was also an entrepreneur, running booths at flea markets, starting R&B Cleaning, and a landscaping business. He was passionate about body building and passed the knowledge he accrued over the years to his sons. Myron loved motorcycles and was a member of the Marine Riders Club. There was nothing Myron loved more in life than his family. He will be greatly missed by all who love him. “Being a man doesn’t always mean swinging a hammer, it means being where your family needs you the most.” -Myron Smith Myron is survived by his his fiancé; his children; Ashten (Justin) Endicott of Kentucky, Allison (Josh) Miller, Ethan (Kelsey Doss) Folker, William (Kaila Leadford) Smith, Robert (Tiara Smith) Smith; his grandchildren, Wesley, Mallery, Caden, Taylan, Lucas, Callee, Landyn, Marleigh, Maximus, and Hope; sister Karen (William) Meadows; his brothers, Roger Yoder and Jim Smith; his foster mother, Sharon Rookstool; and his foster sisters, Connie (Doug) Sherman, Becky (Dan) Bails, Cheryl (Gary) Gibberd and Vicky (Rob) Cripe. Myron was proceeded in death by his parents; his foster father Edward Rookstool; his son, Ryan Folker; brothers, Ronald Joe Smith and Thomas Smith; and his foster sister, Terry Kaugman; as well as his father Johnny Cash and his brother Elvis Presley according to Myron. Family and friends will gather from 4pm-7pm on Thursday, April 13th, 2023 to celebrate Myron’s life at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767.
