Michael David Zawadzke

Michael David Zawadzke, age 64, of Albion, Indiana, and formerly of Bause Lake, Cromwell, and Ligonier, died Friday, September 20th, at 3:30 am. He was born June 27, 1960, in Columbia City, IN to David and Bertha(Gorsuch) Zawadzke. On February 5, 1994, in Ligonier, he married Twila Caskey.

He graduated from Vincennes University in 1981 with an associate in Science. Michael formally worked at Challenge Door/JELD-WEN of Ligonier from 1981 to 2017. Mike then was self employed and sub-contracted to Caskey Escavating and Trucking until his death. Mike dearly loved his two daughters Caskey Zawadzke and Rylea Peterson and 3 grandchildren (Charles, Rose and Jackson Peterson). Mike was an avid golfer. Mike also enjoyed hunting and spent time fixing and tinkering with things in his Man-Cave.

Surviving is his wife Twila, two daughters Caskey Zawadzke of Albion, and Rylea (Maverick) Peterson of Kendallville, three grandchildren, father-in-law and mother-in-law Dick & Joyce Caskey of Ligonier, two brother-N-Laws Grant & Sandy (Mawhorter) Caskey of Wolflake, Gary Caskey (Lanette McGuire) of Ligonier, three sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Bertha Zawadzke.

A funeral service will be held in Mike’s honor at 10 am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Pastor John Roberts of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Albion, Indiana will officiate.  Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home.
