Michael Earl Ostrander

Michael Earl Ostrander, age 71, of Ligonier, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at home. He was born on October 26, 1952 the son of Richard and Betty (Swickard) Ostrander in LaGrange. On May 4, 1971, he married Lana Ostrander in Cromwell.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lana Ostrander; five children, Jenifer Mister, Angeline Valle, Michael “Scott” Ostrander, Shawn Ostrander, and Alex Valle; a sister, Carolyn Anglin; six grandchildren, Dylan Ostrander, Kendra Ostrander, Keisha Ostrander, Ashley Mister, Destiny Ostrander, Heaven Ostrander, and Sky Ostrander; and three great-grandchildren, Abel Valle, Alysa Valle, and Madix Bentley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Ostrander; and a granddaughter, Amber Mister.

Mike attended West Noble High and served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1971-74. He worked in the manufactured home industry for many years and also painted for K & M Paint before retirement. Mike enjoyed anything outdoors including, hunting, ice fishing, salmon fishing in Michigan, and mushroom hunting anywhere they could be found. Most importantly, he loved his family and loved being with them.

Family and friends will gather to remember Mike from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. He will be laid to rest at a later date at Salem Cemetery.
