Michael Dancy

Michael "Mike" Daughton Dancy, 62, of Ligonier, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and mechanical skill. Born June 23, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather,

brother, and friend. A proud graduate of Culver Community High School and served in the United States Army. He worked as a skilled diesel mechanic and had a lifelong passion for computers and tinkering with machines. Known for his warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering support, Mike will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Rounds-Dancy; children Ashley Dancy, Sarah Blevins, Kevin (Stacey) Dancy, and Ion (Alyson Costa) Baker; seven cherished grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a devoted brother to Rene Atkinson, Della Cole, Deborah (Richard) Cubberley, Judith Dancy, Gary (Dyann), Roger (Diana), and Thomas (Doris) Dancy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daughton and Evelyn (Willey) Dancy; son, Austin Dancy; sisters Louann McLean and Linda Kline; and second wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Durham) Dancy.

A private burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
