Michael Kent Cunningham

Michael Kent Cunningham, age 66, of Topeka, Indiana passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on February 16, 1957, the son of Ruthann ( Ream) and Kyle Cunningham in LaGrange, Indiana. On August 6, 1983, he married Laure Roy in Ligonier, Indiana.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Laure Cunningham of Topeka; three children, Justin (Amanda) Cunningham, Jarod (Liz Rust) Cunningham, Jenna (Quinn) Groff all of Topeka; an adorable granddaughter, Halley Groff; four siblings, Kim (Joan Clark) Cunningham of Carefree, Arizona, Dawn (David) Hunnicutt of Fort Wayne, Leah (Kevin) Brown of Albion, and Holly Cunningham of Avon, Indiana; along with several nieces and nephews.

Mike graduated from West Noble High School in 1975. He worked for Ligonier Telephone Company for over twenty years and also operated a Pioneer Seed Agency for over 43 years. Mike was a dedicated member of Topeka Baptist Church for over 40 years. He loved to travel, especially by train, playing golf whenever he could, and having coffee with the guys uptown. Above all, Mike loved his family and loved spending time with them and holding his brand new granddaughter, Halley.

A funeral service will be held in Mike’s honor at 11am on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Topeka Baptist Church, 104 North St, Topeka, IN 46571. Pastors Bob Wilson and Lyn Stutzman will officiate. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery in Topeka.

Family and friends will be received from 2-8 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Topeka Baptist Church and also from 10-11 am prior to the service on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be given in Mike’s memory to Topeka Baptist Church.
