Melissa Ann Triplett, age 52, of Kimmell, Indiana passed away on February 20, 2024 at 7:35 pm at home surrounded by her family following a courageous 18 year battle with cancer. She was born on April 8, 1971 the daughter of Terry and Mattie (Scott) Triplett in Martin, Kentucky. She graduated from Allen Central High School in Floyd County, Kentucky, home of the Rebels. She married Tom Bays in the 1980’s and they were married for 17 years. On August 8, 2023 she married Chris Stover.
She is survived by her spouse and companion of 18 years, Chris Stover of Kimmell, Indiana; a daughter, Sarah (Les) Lucas of Pierceton, Indiana; two grandchildren, Talon Lucas and Shaelyn Lucas of Pierceton, Indiana; and her mother, Mattie Triplett of Garrett, Kentucky; four siblings, Jennifer (John) Miller of Milford, Matthew (Jessica) Triplett of Vanlear, Kentucky, Michael (Gloria) Triplett of Garrett, Kentucky, and Andy (Gabby) Triplett of Milford; nieces & nephews, Austin (Leah) Turner, Alicia (Zac) Garcia, Peyton (Kenzi) Triplett, and Gage (Sarah) Miller; great-niece, Bronxlynn; great-nephew, Keaton; mother-in-law, Georgianna Stover of Kimmell; and brother-in-laws, Ronny (Angel) Combs of Auburn, Joe Combs of Kimmell, and Eulice Combs of Corunna.
Melissa loved to go on vacation and be by the ocean. She also loved going to concerts, listening to Michael Jackson, and living life to the fullest. She was always caring for others and their needs. A very hard worker, Melissa would accomplish whatever she put her mind to. She worked at Lear in Columbia City for over 15 years and enjoyed her coworkers. More than anything, Melissa loved her family, especially her grandbabies.
A Celebration of Melissa’s life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 12 noon to 6 pm at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, Indiana 46767.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and her ashes will be scattered at Sunset Beach, Marathon, Florida.
