Matthew David Laughlin

Matthew David Laughlin, affectionately known as Matt, passed away on June 22, 2025, in Goshen, Indiana. Born on January 1, 1980, in Elyria, Ohio, Matt's journey through life was marked by his courage, thoughtfulness, and kindness.

Matt was a proud alumnus of Goshen High School, where he graduated in 1998. His formative years in Elyria and Goshen forged lifelong friendships and molded the resilient and compassionate man so many knew. Professionally, Matt dedicated himself to the production and manufacturing industry, where his skilled hands and sharp mind found a niche as an electrician for RVs.

Matt is survived by his sons, Trenton Scott and Matthaniel Laughlin; his sister, Sarah Laughlin; his brother, Daniel (Leslie) Laughlin; and his paternal grandmother, Alice Laughlin. Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah (Stewart) Laughlin, and his maternal grandmother, Jean Stewart.

At 45, he dedicated his entire life to the role of a father, cherishing his two sons more than anything in the world. They were his pride, his joy, and the reason he pushed through each day with purpose. His love wasn’t just spoken—it was lived through every sacrifice, every embrace, every lesson taught with patience and care. His sons weren’t just a part of his life; they were his whole world, the center of everything he was and everything he hoped to be.
