Mary "Eileen" Mynhier

KIMMELL - Mary “Eileen” Mynhier, 93, of Kimmell, IN, passed away at 6:20 A.M. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her home in Kimmell, IN.  She was born on September 22, 1924 in Noble County, IN to John and Stella (Sparrow) Gangwer.  On April 8, 1944 she married, Edwin “Lefty” Mynhier Jr.  He survives.

She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Lefty Mynhier, of Kimmell, IN; children, Karen (Fred) Green of Cromwell, IN, Gary (Sharon) Mynhier of Niles, MI; siblings, Merrit Gangwer, Delvin Gangwer, Delbert Gangwer; nine grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and many great great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Gangwer, siblings, Laura Alfrey, Thurlow Gangwer, Latice Smith, Hershal Gangwer, Geraldine Tracy, Maxine Tedrick, Helen Stanger, and Delois Gangwer.   She was also preceded in death by two of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Mynhier was quite the outdoors woman.  She loved to go fishing, mushroom hunt, and pan for gold.  She literally lived at many campgrounds throughout the years.  During winter months, they kept their camper packed so at the drop of a hat, they could travel to the Mississippi River, and camp grounds in Louisiana and Kentucky.  She spent other moments square dancing and making memories with her entire extended family.  A true gem, who will be missed by so many.

A funeral service in her honor will be on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Yeager Funeral Home at 11 A.M. Pastor John Lutton will officiate. Burial will be at Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M.  Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767. Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday.
