Marvin E. Blackshire

Marvin E. Blackshire, age 66, of Ligonier, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at home surrounded by those he loved. He was born on April 27, 1956 to James & Dixie (Myers) Blackshire in Looneyville, West Virginia. On November 21, 1975 he married Vicki Murphy at the Ligonier Church of the Nazarene; She survives. Mr. Blackshire's first love besides his family was fishing. He was involved in Inspiration Ministries through Bridgeway Evangelical Church in Kendallville. Marvin is survived by his wife, Vicki of Ligonier; his daughter, Sara (Mark) Glick of Albion; three grandchildren, Cayla (Josh) Miller of Albion, Mariah Glick of Topeka, Isaiah Glick of Albion; one great grandchild, Lorelai Miller; a brother, Danny (Norma) Blackshire of Ligonier; two sisters, Debbie (Tom) Beckner of Wawaka and Sandy (David) Magnus of Ligonier. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Blackshire. The family will host a celebration of Mr. Blackshire’s life at 2pm on March 25, 2023 at Bridgeway Evangelical Church, Kendallville, IN. Pastor Josh Golden will officiate. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center in Ligonier.
