Marta Lopez

Marta Lopez, age 76, of Ligonier, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022 at home. She was born on August 10, 1945, the daughter of Victoriano Lopez and Santos Galvan in Aguascalientes, Mexico. In 1969, she married Jose De Jesus Lucero; he preceded her in death on May 11, 1992.

She is survived by six children, Jorge Lucero, Veronica Lucero, Guadalupe Lucero, Jesus Lucero, Laura Lucero, and Maria Lucero; twenty grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jose De Jesus Lopez and Antonio Lopez; 2 sisters, Maria Del Carmen Lopez and Victoria Lopez; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marta was a loving grandmother who loved to cook and care for her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was always happy when serving others.

A funeral mass will be held at 4:30 pm on Monday August 8, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ravine Park Drive, Ligonier, IN 46767. Father Zachary Barry will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, IN.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2-5 pm and also on Monday August 8, 2022 from 3-4 pm at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.
