Marilyn Elizabeth Tuvell, 92, of Ligonier, went to her eternal reward at 10:55 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2024. She was in her home, surrounded by her family, when her Lord stretched out His hand to her and said, “It’s time to come Home.”
Marilyn Crosbie was born December 31, 1931, in Noble County. In November 1951, she married the late Ted Schlemmer. On June 28, 1963, she married Dennis Tuvell, who survives. She is also survived by four children, Christine (late Kennard) Martin of Sumner, WA, Larry (Linda) Schlemmer of Gilbert, AZ, Peggy (Dave) Alfano of Ligonier, and Shirley (Rex) Shipley of Cromwell. Scattered throughout the States are ten grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Marilyn lived her entire life in Ligonier. She graduated from Ligonier High School in the Class of 1949 and worked at the American State Bank and in the office of Ligonier Rubber Co. She also had a ceramic shop in her home for several years. Marilyn especially enjoyed attending services with Dennis at the Ligonier Nazarene Church, traveling with Dennis, having visits from her children and grandchildren, reading, writing poetry, canning, playing games on her computer, and anything to do with butterflies.
Her life and legacy will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway S, Ligonier, IN 46767, with Chaplain Lois Tamayo, Hospice Chaplain at Goshen Home Care, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
