Marilyn L. Plank

February 16, 1933 — April 4, 2017

Marilyn Lou Plank, 84, of Cromwell entered into the arms of Jesus Christ her heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, IN. She was born on February 16, 1933 in Wolf Lake, IN to Wiley and Cleo (Householder) Miller.

Marilyn was known as a very giving, generous friend to all that she knew.  The light of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn started working in the Cromwell Post office at the age of 20 in 1953 and later became the Postmaster, a job which she loved and held for several years until she retired in 1988.  Marilyn just loved to travel and her favorite place was Hawaii.  Crafting, sewing, collecting antique and well-made dolls, and cooking were ways Marilyn filled her time in between working and family time.  … “More ice”… is what the family will remember because Marilyn always liked her cup of water filled with ice when anyone would enter the room.  She will be truly missed by all those who loved and knew Marilyn.

On February 16, 1952, Marilyn married Robert Plank.  He has since preceded her in death in 1986.  Marilyn and Robert had two children, Bobby (Susan) Plank and Karen (Tim) Records, who both survive.  Marilyn leaves behind eight grandchildren; Kelly (Tim) Kaase, Justin (Tammy) Plank, Elizabeth (George) Coquillard, Robyn (Daniel) Lyons, Tyson Kaase, Amanda Plank, Kristen Records, Adam Records, and Matt (Michelle) Records.  She also had several great grandchildren and a very special niece, Kenda Miller.  In addition to her family, Marilyn had several special friends whom she cherished.  Her good friend Melvin Bruner who always knew how to put a smile on her face, and her loving caretaker, Jeanne Lemmons, who took wonderful care of Marilyn in her later years.  Marilyn loved Jeanne’s cooking and positive aura.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her siblings, Kent and Marvin Miller.
