Maria Contreras De Saldivar

Maria Contreras De Saldivar, age 59, of Ligonier, IN passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 2:40 pm IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on October 24, 1960 the daughter of Jesus Contreras Ibarra and Maria Felicitas Moreno Regalado in Chinampas, Jalisco Mexico. On September 17, 1983 she married Valente Saldivar and together they shared over 36 years of marriage.

Survivors include, her husband, Valente Saldivar;  her father, Jesus Contreras Ibarra; four siblings, Armando Contreras, Gerardo Contreras, Jesus Contreras, and Maria Enriqueta Contreras; along with many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; and a brother, Antonio Contreras.

Maria was full of life and loved people. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed going shopping and more than anything, being with her family and friends. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ligonier.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Sunday June 14, 2020 at 4:30 pm.  Father Wilson Corzo will officiate.

Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until 9 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.

A cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation & Remembrance Center in Ligonier, IN.
