Manuel Salinas

Manuel Salinas, age 77, of Ligonier, Indiana passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at home. He was born on March 6, 1947 the son of Lorenzo Salinas Cervantes and Ma. Concepcion Montes in Port Isabel, Texas. On January 30, 1970, he married Evarista Salinas.

Manuel moved to Ligonier 33 years ago and retired from Rinker Boats in Syracuse. He was a very hard worker and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ligonier. Manuel enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, planting flowers, and always made his home look beautiful. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evarista Salinas of Ligonier; six children, Angelina Salinas, Elvia (Wilibaldo) Puente, Raul (Rosalina) Salinas, Ismael (Victoria) Salinas, Imelda (Alejandro) Herrera, and Maribel (Carlos) Mendez; twenty grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two sisters, Maria Salinas and Gilberta Salinas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Miguel Salinas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Manuel at 2pm on Monday, September 16, 2024  at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 300 Ravine Park Dr, Ligonier, IN 46767. Father Ryan Timossi will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.

Family and friends will be received from 3 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, IN 46767.
