Lorena May Karst, age 82, of Goshen, IN, living most of her life in Noble County, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 8:46 PM at Courtyard Healthcare Center in Goshen, IN.
Mrs. Karst was born on November 9, 1934 to Ralph & Lovila (Parker) Marchand in Goshen, IN. On November 29, 1953, she married John Davis in the state of Kansas. They spent 38 years together prior to his passing away in 1991. On February 14, 1992, she married William “Bill” Karst in Whitley County, IN; he survives.
She graduated from North Webster High School in 1953, and worked as an inspector for a Monsanto manufacturing company. She then went on to work for Kidd & Co. where she retired in 1992. She was a lifetime area resident, an avid card player and enjoyed creating many memories with her entire family. Lorena was a member of the Cromwell-Kimmell Lions club for 20 years and attended the Stone’s Hill Community Church in Ligonier. She was also a member of the Washington Township Jrs. And was awarded the extension homemaker of the year in 2014. She will be missed by so many.
She is survived by her three sons, Roger (Debbie) Davis of Larwill, IN, Gary Davis of Texas, Randy (Laura) Davis of Indianapolis, IN, daughter; Janelle Johnson (Daniel Iavagnilio) of Ligonier, IN, three step-children; Jere Karst, Jeanine (Wayne) Garber, Jan Morr; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; 5 step great-great grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy (Helen) Marchand of Valparaiso; sisters; Rebecca Bellaire of Shipshewana, Nora Lafferty of Vandergrift, PA; and a sister-in-law, Ida Marchand.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Davis; daughter, Debbie Davis, and her brother, George Marchand.
A funeral service will be held in Lorena’s honor on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 10AM at Yeager Funeral Home - 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN, 46767. Pastor Joey Nelson will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date at Thorn Cemetery.
There will be a time of visitation from 3PM-8PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Yeager Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Cromwell – Kimmell Lions Club.
