Lloyd Owen Schrock, age 74, of Topeka, Indiana, passed away on Monday morning, April 29, 2024 in at Hubbard Hill in Elkhart, Indiana. He was born on September 23, 1949, the son of Faye Irene (Tustison) and Virgil K. Schrock in Goshen, Indiana.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Schrock of LaGrange, Indiana, three children, Shannon (Mike) Rose of Carmel, Indiana, Erin (Joseph) Rapp of Goshen, Indiana, and Cody (Antoinette) Schrock of Queens, New York; three grandchildren, Phineas Rose, Presley Rapp, and Lennox Rapp; siblings, Larry (Hilda) Schrock of Topeka, Indiana, Lowel (Debbie) Schrock of Paw Paw, Michigan, and Lynn Schrock of Rome City, Indiana; along with several nieces and nephews.
Lloyd grew up in Topeka and graduated from Westview High School in 1968. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1968-1971 and was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. He then worked in the manufacturing industry for many years, including for Redman Homes, Dutch Housing, and Keystone RV. He also helped found Kountry Kustom RV in Topeka, Indiana and was part of the business until his retirement.
Lloyd was extremely knowledgeable and very mechanically inclined. He could fix, remodel, or repair anything. A man of many talents and interest, Lloyd raced sprint cars when he was younger and loved anything fast. He enjoyed taking his kids to races while they were growing up and was an avid sports fan. Lloyd also enjoyed photography, music, spending time with his family and cheering on his favorite teams, Florida Gators and the Pittsburg Steelers.
A Celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held from 12-3 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Topeka United Methodist Church, 124 W Pine St, Topeka, IN 46571.
A graveside service will take place with military honors prior to the celebration of life at 11 am on Saturday at Eden Cemetery in Topeka.
