Leroy M. Mast

LeRoy M. Mast, age 82 , of Ligonier, IN passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at 12:35PM at Avalon Village in Ligonier, IN. He was born on April 2, 1935 to Moses & Goldie (Miller) Mast in LaGrange, IN. In 1955 he married Virginia “Mickey” L. Hughart.

Mr. Mast was a lifetime area resident and worked for 39 years at the Ligonier Rubber Company as well as for a few years at Challenge Door. He also worked for ALCO for a few years along with training, owning and racing sulky horses. Wood working, watching old western films, fishing, and gardening were a few of his many favorite past times.

LeRoy is survived by his son, Michael (Emma) Mast, of Ligonier, IN; two daughters, Sue (Dennis) Rose, of Ligonier, IN, Sherri (Ray) Jescki of Three Rivers, MI; sister’s, Lillian (Randy) Oaks of Elkhart, IN, Irma Yakim of Milford, IN, Evelyn (Karl) Tendell of Tyler, TX; brother, Alvin Mast of Florida; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, along with 50 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia “Mickey” Mast, sisters; Voila Homes, Ella Warren, Edith Avery, Mary DeFreese, brothers; Tobey Mast, Perry Mast, Eli Mast, Allen Mast, and Lloyd Mast.

There will be a funeral service held in Mr. Mast’s honor on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 12PM at Yeager Funeral Home – 1589 Lincolnway South Ligonier, IN 46767 with Pastor Gary Ford officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier, Indiana.

There will be a time of visitation from 1-4PM and 6-8PM at Yeager Funeral Home on Friday, December 29, 2017.
