Larry J. Staton Sr.

Larry J. Staton Sr., age 79, of Kimmell, IN, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 10:15 a.m. at home. He was born on June 16, 1943 the son of James and Evelyn (Harlan) Staton in Wolf Lake, IN. On November 23, 1973, he married Pamela Ice.

He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Pamela Staton of Kimmell; seven children, Larry (Sun) Staton Jr. of Cromwell, Lisa (Tom) Butler of Goshen, Penny (Lowell) Klett of Middlebury, Kim (Sherri) Walker, Jeffrey (Bryan) Ice of New Mexico, Theresa (Kevin) Williams of Goshen, and Andrew (Barb) Staton of Osceola; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Junior (Pauline) Staton Jr. of Ligonier and Dan (Julie) Staton of Goshen; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, James and Evelyn Staton; step-father, Laurel Harlan; and a sister, Bonita Leamon.

He retired from Johnson Control in Goshen after 39 years of service and mowed Kimmell Park for many years. Larry enjoyed fishing, working on lawn mowers, and being outside. More than anything, Larry loved all of his family.

A funeral service will be held in Larry’s honor at 1pm on Friday February 24, 2023 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South; Ligonier, IN 46767. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell. Family and friends will be received from 11 am - 1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
